Verulam School – New Stage Lighting Installation
Verulam School in St Albans has transformed its main hall with a brand-new stage lighting system and overhead grid. The popular Immersive Lighting setup gives the school the flexibility to illuminate any area of the hall — perfect not only for music and drama productions but also for assemblies, award evenings, and parent presentations.
In total, 50 lights, bars, and rigging were installed in just three days. Our team also took care of the finishing touches: moving and reinstating furniture, cleaning both high and low-level spaces, and repairing and painting areas where the old system had been removed earlier in the year.
Day four was dedicated to focusing and programming the system. As luck would have it, one of the fixtures developed a fault and had to be replaced — naturally, it turned out to be the heaviest and highest light in the grid!
The project included a full electrical and data distribution system, with metal trunking along the walls and steel-wire armoured cabling routed through the loft spaces. This robust infrastructure ensures the installation is built to perform reliably for many years to come.
